Look, it's hard trying to reinvent the agricultural revolution when there's a war going around. Plus, technology isn't really just a one-use thing. For example, ammonia is used both as a fertiliser and as a vital compound for explosives. No matter what she makes, it's going to be used in some way in military tech.

You know... I always had this little nugget of a thought... if people of the past, before electricity was discovered and widespread, how good was their eyesight in darkness?

Obviously, it wouldn't be something like "total visibility in darkness", but with eyes more accustomed to dealing with it, people then would have better night vision than we have now.

Night vision is quite a lot dependent on eye colour. In countries with strong sunlight you need lots of melanin in your eyes for protection against the sun, so just about everyone have brown eyes. As humans settled further north, mutations that gave an advantage in low light appeared, they were important when there were little to no sunlight in winter.
I am from Scandinavia and have blue eyes, which lets through the most light, much more than brown eyes. I have excellent night vision and a tiny amount of starlight is enough for me to walk safely on a forest path at night, when almost everyone else would need a flashlight. I have to squint like Clint Eastwood in strong sunlight though.
People with grey or green eyes also have better night vision than the brown-eyed.
In Japan almost all have dark brown eyes, so their night vision will be very poor I'm afraid.

Assuming you read the previous chapters, basically:

The kid commander is Nobunaga's son. He's the kid that got sick and Shizuko helped him get better, and kept bothering Shizuko to tell him about Sun Tzu and war stuff. He's just a bit older now.

The kid with the horned helmet and evil grin is the son of the general that Nobunaga sent to check up on Shizuko's village in the first few chapters of the story. He's the kid that won the sumo contest, because Shizuko trained him.

The pony tailed samurai guy without a helmet in the white surcoat with flowers is one of Shizuko's main bodyguards/officers.

The other samurai guy with the long hair, helmet and evil looking eyes is the guy that got time travelled to the modern age, got adopted by Shizuko's family and returned back to the past. He's the guy that Shizuko calls uncle and asked to be a priest.

The other lords/generals are a little bit easier to remember if you read other manga about the Sengoku era and Nobunaga, but if you can't, I don't think it matters that much for this type of story. As long as you know who's Nobunaga, and vaguely remember who's an enemy or ally. If they're important, then the author would try to hype them up more.

I was kinda reading this for isekai powerfantasy. But that's taken a complete backseat to political maneuvering and wars between natives.
I'd rather read three kingdoms or the warring states if this is gonna continue.

Shizuko is literally changing the entire Hinomoto right now and soon enough the world itself if she can actually prevent Honnoji incident
