I do wonder how much of an advantage it would actually be if you don't have standardized, machined parts. Sure the design is superior to the guns the enemy has, but that hardly matters if you weapon (and ammo) production is bottlenecked by the handful of gunsmiths who have to make everything by hand. And god forbid if something breaks and those same smiths have to tailor made the parts by themselves.

Let's hope they'll be less violent than OTL Japan, if Shizuko is smart she can have Oda framed himself as the "savior" of Asia from European influences.
Yeah, forming a sphere of soft power in the region would probably help reduce colonial aspirations in the area. It could also help keep SEA out of the World Wars, or stop them entirely. Also, imagine if they were able to team up with Admiral Yi; They'd be a powerhouse at that point.

While the Japanese sengoku warlords were still playing shogi, and the European princes were still playing chess, Nobunaga and Shizuko had already been playing Sid Meier's Civilization.

While the warriors of the opposing clans were still expounding the martial virtues of Bushido, the soldiers of Oda had already been devising, strategizing and drilling in the ways of modern firearm combat.

Oh boy, the Oda are going to go full Call of Duty on these clueless mfs so hard that it won't be funny anymore.

What's next to compliment these new firearms?
Battle-wagons? Maxim guns? Howitzers?

...Nevertheless, a congratulation is in order.
Congrats Shizuko! You just laid and solidified the foundation of the modern Military-Industrial Complex in Hinomoto!

Imagine after this they build steel warship, equipped with rocket XD
Then few years later, Commodore Perry is in for a nasty surprise.

"Greetings, savages. We have come to tra- what in tarnation is that giant ship?!"

"Moshi moshi, gaijin. We are the immigration officers, and welcome to Japan! Now, are you here for business, or for leisure?"

OWARI-DA~!!

With steel, now she can make all kinds of firearms now. Pistols for generals or horseback riders, (Dragoons ?) Sniper unit or Gatling guns should also be possible as well. Now we just wait for artillery.

Imagine next invention from Shizuko and Uncle, Biplane Planes or they just skip a tech tree and go straight for WW2 Planes.

I think they're still missing an important piece, mechanized reproduction. Having artisans make mechanical parts is relatively slow and prone to defects. Even more than guns, Shizaru and Uncle could mess up the timeline by building machine lathes, mills, and hydraulic presses- possible if they unlock steel tech and tool steel.

Another problem is that saltpeter is relatively scarce in Japan, so production of gunpowder would be difficult at scale. This is a good argument that Oda would try to invade China.

OH HO HO that would actually be fun, too bad 1571 is a long ways from 1853. I would enjoy a story where an evil expansionist empire pokes a sleeping bear.

im no gun expert. but that gun seem wrong to me, can we have a expert opinon?

- if it use a precusion cap(or tape) primer. should the gun powder be expose in the chamber using the muzzle-load system. And the paper cartridge only use as a container to store the round and power

- if it a separate paper cartridge and later the full metal cartridge use for breach loading. it need a intergated primer in the bullet (needle gun, chaspol) and needle (firing pin) to fire

- if it not have a intergated primer cartridge. can the precusion cap ignite the powder inside the paper fast enough?

- this could be a trapdor type gun where they cut up the back of the gun and place a breach block in. the prime cap replace with a piston and keep the cocking hammer. using a chaspol cartridge.

It appears to be a pretty straightforward copy of the Sharps rifle, which was developed shortly before and used in the American civil war. It's a breechloader (as they've shown) with a falling-block action (lever-actuated), and did also use paper cartridges alongside percussion caps in it's early versions so it does all line up for what is being portrayed.

The giveaway is page 19 where you can quite clearly see her using the lever and the falling block protruding from the bottom of the action.

It being a sharps means these two have introduced something about 300 years ahead of schedule, which is pretty wild. It's also quite obviously the carbine version since the stock has been cut down quite a lot and the barrel too it looks like.

"To this day, historians still puzzle over the incredible mystery that is the sudden and rapid advancement of firearms and other technologies in the Sengoku Era."

Seriously, this is absolutely nuts. I wish a little more of the experimentation side was shown to demonstrate that Shizuko is not some Mary Sue super genius, but whatever.
Well it was so fast because it's a straight up copy from her weapons catalogue, she isn't a genius in this case
