Huh, what's with the zombies. I guess they'll explain that soon.
...Did Shizuko cook meth and create a bunch of meth-zombies?

This chapter is a little jumping the shark, as much as I like this series. Fiberglass armor is a little farfetched, and I hope that's explained. It's theoretically doable with the industrial machines Shizuko has made, but integrating it into armor in a useful fashion (on top of arrows very conveniently bouncing off armored portions only) is pushing it. I feel bad for whatever craftsmen are stuck prepping it; I'm not sure that Shizuko has introduced OSHA-compliant workspaces.

Might be a translation issue or something, but I read it as they made a knock off or more primitive version.
The text says it degrades more quickly compared to actual fiberglass.

Those guys mustve been criminals or the Takeda spies he captured like the ones from previous chapter , tortured and drugged up to the point of losing their mind.
Man the ex-shogun uncle is ruthless , hes willing to do this kinda dishonorable shit all for the sake of Shizuko's choice to stick with Oda's

...yeah i dunno, it's been that way for awhile now

the agriculture sort of made sense since Shizuko's supposed to be a farming nerd, but fiberglass armour isn't much different than being able to make the tooling to manufacture sharps carbines from having a coffee table booklet on guns and a downloaded copy of wikipedia, in pre-industrial Japan. i tuned out around then, no clue where the story's going but it'll probably be something like neo Japanese Empire with fun war crimes to tide us over

the story is just Shizuko maxxing out the tech tree, it doesn't need to be logical

They are spies from Takeda (and other factions), they were captured and drugged by Ashimitsu
I don't remember the details but it's a kind of hallucination drug that used for interrogation and also destroy the minds, leave them in this zombie state, and Ashimitsu be like : "free meat shield"

Apparently, they cultivated Datura for this purpose.
