The kids need to be told that what they are doing is dangerous. Mc has a soft spot for them and they've become too comfortable with his softness.
He really needs to sit them down and make them understand to be extra careful with how they behave. Kids forget easily(also with the right way pick things up easily as well) and also with the lost of two source of guidance(parents)really early in their age they truly didn't learn anything.
Mc rn is just being a caring person to them but he needs to be the new source of guidance if he wants to see them grow better and safer.

@yeetmaster6981 meh i often used to do dumb shit like that...i was a lil daredevil everything was cool and even dangerous stuff left mostly unfazed well save for 1 incident that ill never forget but yeah aint strange for there to be such kids

@Ghekor and a lot of other people are missing the point. Yeah, kids are dumb. But these kids were specifically introduced as extremely shy, afraid, and traumatized *to the point of becoming mute* due to repeated abuse. That's not something that just disappears overnight. You say that you did a lot of dangerous things that left you unfazed. Well, these kids *weren't* unfazed, yet they're acting as if they were. That's just bad storytelling.

If the author wanted the kids to be a plot device by getting into trouble all the time, then they should have been introduced as sheltered and curious kids who hadn't yet experienced the danger of being discovered as twins. Then their actions would have made sense.
