out of all the endings this WEEK (Nagatoro, Shonen Abyss, Takagi) this was the weakest and most rushed.

This manga was clearly designed to be one of those "it goes on for a long time with no progress", weekly stuff. But the last chapters was a RUSH to the ending, with feelings flipped to be changed. Senpai always saw the MC as a child/little sister type, but kinda is gaslit/forced by the author to like the MC. The progress needed to get from Point A to Point B is skipped.

Many chapters are wasted on side characters that dont get resolved here. In a vacuum this manga is 200+ chapters of filler and no relationship progress between MC and Senpai. The side characters get more progress and natural progression.

It was clear this was either AXED or Shiromanta got bored.

To be quite honest, the only word I can find for this ending is DISAPPOINTING. The author stretched it to the point where it couldn't be done any longer and out of NOWHERE came the end. Extra couple >>>>>>>>>>>>>>main couple.

Everyone sane: yes, we knew, long time ago.

It's sad to understand what we would never see them again, but they found their happiness and so should do you.

Literally that. I'd go even further and say that most of nowaday mangas have shitty endings with dozens of unresolved plots, that were thrown like a random spices to chilli pot by some kid who don't know how to cook and is thinking, that more = better, and then the heat was cut down and at the end a promising dish became a hot pile of inedible garbage.
I'm not huge fan of a manhwa format, but really, at this point... I don't think there is any reason to try looking for some promising titles made by Japanese, when I know how it will end 90% of the time.
You absolutely nailed it. Either they end in an abrupt, unpolished mess with the side characters thrown into the garbage like this one; or they drag on for 200+ chapters without any plot development or any resolution (Yankee JK Kuzuhana-Chan, Rent-a-GF, and many others).
At least Nanashi promised an upcoming epilogue chapter for "Nagatoro" to be released with Vol. 20 in August. Here's hoping he delivers as far as tying up loose ends with the side characters, or expands on them with another spinoff manga series.

man, what’s with these rom coms not being able to stick good landings with their endings. Just underwhelming all around.

I will have to rely on Anjou San, Akutsu San, Blooming Love, Polar Opposites and a few others for my long running rom com fix. Not bad
If I had to hazard a guess, the end of Akutsu-San is likely not long in coming, now that the MCs have confessed to each other.
If it follows the current shitty pattern of Japanese rom-com manga, expect that one to end abruptly as well.

That's it?

Don't get wrong I'm grateful for what the translators have done throughout the years, but man, Sakurai and Kazama had much better development than these two. They were actually fun to watch.

Also, what about Natsumi and Yuuto Did the author just forget?

WTF!

This has to be the most mid ending this week.
Moto Takagi San and Nagatoro ended much more gracefully.
I am in absolute complete agreement! I'm feeling very ripped-off having invested in every English volume of this manga so far. Hoped for a MUCH better wrap-up with more closure regarding the side characters and other "beta" couples.
As for Nagatoro, thankfully that one isn't even quite over: Nanashi promised on his Twitter feed that the final tankobon volume (20) will include an epilogue chapter, which will hopefully wrap things up with those side characters and give us more firm closure with that title.

ngl I really think the mangaka just went "fuck all" then decided to rush the ending without even thinking on what happens to the side couples, and giving a shit ending to the main couple

Yeah, he/she better is. Nagatoro is another example of medicore ending - 40 pages chapter, where 30 are made for some irrelevant speeches and 10 where main couple is only side dish at the level, which we were on like a year prior to what was presented just few weeks ago. If that was kind of ending author was going for, what is the reason for whole vol.20 then? What was the reason to show us how their relationship deepened? I completely don't understand that ending - not just last chapter, but whole vol.20. If last chapter was a separate thing - cool, classic, safe rom-com ending, nothing bad, but also not amazing. But when you add rest of that volume? It literally felt like we took a few steps back.
