I've used a cane for decades, and this reminded me of a similar situation in my 30's. I'd had to use my cane one day (didn't always need it) and a pregnant woman got on the crowded bus. Nowhere to sit and none of the able-bodied people thought to offer her their seat. Being one raised to always defer to a pregnant woman, I rose and offered her my seat. She saw how I had trouble standing, and declined until I told her I was getting off soon. Interesting, that a guy that needed a cane was the only one to offer, and nobody stepped up to do the same. Yeah, Igarashi, I admire your thoughtfulness.
