I’m majorly disappointed that Ryuji never got a second arch and was pretty much sidelined for much of the second half of this manga. The complete lack of closure is what is really preventing me from loving this series. We didn’t even see his future plans, let alone anything like coming out to his family that he has feeling for Makoto, although I do get the feeling his loving family would have been completely supportive in this regard. It still would have been nice to have a nod in this direction even if ultimately he would have to take a back seat to hero/heroine of the story. That said the final chapter does sort of resolve nothing, so at least I can be happy in the fact no one is going to be happy. My hope is that the animators realise this major short coming and deviate from the plot accordingly. Perhaps then this will truly be a masterpiece it had the potential to become but fell so short in practice.

I fully agree, I’m invested after reading so many chapters and I feel like we never resolved anything. Isn’t Aoi also moving away and Makoto wants to date her? Wouldn’t long distance be an issue? Also they did Ryuiji so freaking dirty man. Like how were his emotions just instantly fine like he must be hurting inside too. I wanted to learn more bout him

They won first place for "Manga we want to see animated 2022" but I didn't expect it to actually make it.

I'm just surprised that none of the localizations have tried to turn the series into My Transgender Senpai. I can't wait for the twitter wars when episodes start releasing.

Considering how localizations have been going these past year and a half it's not entirely outside the realm of possibility they might just end up changing a few lines of dialogue to suit the "western audience" with the anime...

Especially if it's being co-produced by a western company like Crunchyroll.
