I'm doubling down on he's the reason for the evil mages cause of one simple thing. It's a future event and while it may not currently be his plan, he is already talking in terms of revolution. It's not that far of a step from there to 'fuck it, tear it all down and we can rebuild'.

I'd think the timeline they prevented has class d side with him, and him having no idea of how to guide latent talents into proper skills has him force them to run wild, overthrowing the current system but putting into place something similar to the state of witches (i.e. there isn't so much 'responsibility' over the things he listed as there are just beings who both cause and quell them by sheer force of their existence). In this timeline he backs off since Solo is doing it through a method he would've never tried (cooperation), and if a d-day does happen the students Solo helps side with their teacher instead

Yah Its a tough balance in real life. Are your supporting the downtrodden or enabling sloth? Are you rewarding excellence or are you breeding hubris?

Thanks for the chapter!
Balance is the ideal that humanity constantly trips and over corrects. The line is possibly too fine to place ourselves on so we should strive to improve and embrace change continually.

In reality what Julios said is correct, and the meeting honestly had very little substance to it nor tension. The invitation to "join the revolution" is more a decorative term than literal in that he wants to change the education system; something that Sensei is already actively doing by standing against the norm, by helping the D class students overperform against expectation.

Like Julios said, so long as Sensei continues to support class D, he will be part of his revolution, as proof against the current system. There is hence little to be gained from a verbal agreement, in my opinion. But that's just however the author wants the story to play out.

I'm sticking that this guy despite all his preaching is still a villain to the kids. Since he wants to prove that the kids are still strong he probably pushes them to be evil mages to force his revolution instead of actually helping them in a meaningful way. It's a sacrifice of a few for future benefits mentality

Maybe Class D got recruited by Julius, joined the revolution in the prophecy, and became evil mages to fight/retaliate against the academy's Sacrificial Education system. Those who had their future changed went with Solo's reasoning to fight for their rights to survive, possibly in a "fair" manner of getting stronger themselves.

So yeah Julius is still sus to me :pepehmm:

Just to reiterate what a few said above, I agree Julios hasn't been cleared of being the instigator of the future evil mage rebellion. An entire class or even a significant portion there of abused students going rogue due to their supposed abusive treatment would make for the perfect context for the schools policy reform.

OTOH it's still possible he only has good intentions and the author is using our biases against prettybois against us... Unfortunately most authors are not that nuanced or subtle. Very few bother going to the effort or even have the ability to trick their audience, so this guy is just as shady as we assume.

I wonder why the government just doesn't fire the principle, who is actually the source of the threats for the country so far.
