IIRC, he always put his phone in airplane mode outside.

The next two points (alibi manufacturing and ditching it, not taking precaution like showering or changing clothes), it really shows how all his plan basically relies on his father protecting the "name".

I love this. Most stories like this go way too far into the gruesome territory or try to force some kind of morality question here. A righteous revenge story that sticks to its roots and doesn't go into the grotesque is way too rare.
