Ah no, I don't see it as an actual threat. It's pretty clear that she was just saying that in the moment. It was an empty threat and I doubt that she'd be capable of following through with it.
I was really just thinking about the logistics of such a threat. A threat, to be effective, must imply some kind of future harm to the person being threatened. However, in this case, the threat implies more benefit than harm!
Social gatherings that include single girls, potential relationships with said girls, the other things a growing boy would want to do once he gets a girlfriend (*wink, wink* *nudge, nudge*), all of that becomes possible to him if he just 'breaks up' with the teacher.
Sure, he would lose his (promise of a )relationship with the teacher in 3 years, but being free of that 'relationship' would allow him to do so many other things that I have difficulty really seeing it as a loss. The only things keeping him waiting like this are his feelings.
Kinda sad if you think about it...
