apparently he has a strong sense of right and wrong (the whole reason he is trying to help his Sensei and show her he is not like other men)

That flashback was of himself remembering he was watching same exact cartoons like her when he was a child,
the next panel is where The Girl is leaving his room and telling him" I'm going okay?".

The only flashback part is him watching cartoons panel, rest is present.
