As I though, this arc will tell about Sousei's past from resurging memories of That clone. Looks like it triggered since the clone activated new awakening when battling Death Messiah Monster form, memories about younger sister of him.

Plus Sanae being targeted is make a sense now why Chidori shelter her family.
