Is an Election Arc something rare? Haven't read a lot of them.
Probably hard to call it a category actually. And now this one has turned into more of a Trial Arc.
Even the Election Arc in Hunter x Hunter wasn't a pure Election Arc as it went parallel to Killua's/Gon's Rescue Arc.

@exxp don't remember the chapter, it was early on though. When they were talking about Lanka he basically said he loved her "if she wasn't a beast." and that pretty much leads her to think that Jin doesn't really like her, just that she's human. Which normally, yes that's an excellent reason. But in a manga about anthropomorphic animals, is basically meaningless.

@No1Kenkaku speculation on the level of "There were no other girls here, so he only wanted her pussy." With the same logic, you can argue that the entire Yena x Hitomi ship is based solely on her desire to get her dick.

@exxp Jin had a freudian slip earlier when they were talking about Lanka around the time of his first confession. He said something along the lines of "If only she wasn't a beast" and the rest is history.
