She's not actually his slave, and that dynamic never gets brought up again after this scene. if anything she's happy he went so far to save her rather than being pronounced his property.
the official records say the lord tried to send her to work at a brothel but ended up giving her to the subjugation leader as his reward instead.
He needed to make it look like he punished the mastermind and his family to keep up appearance, but it's just an act and never enforced in any way.

Blood guilt was a pretty common form of collective punishment back in the medieval days depending on the severity of the crime. You'd see entire families get executed regardless of guilt

In this case it's BS. The girl is a victim too. Most laws that dealt with kin punishment where about perceived fairness. Example from Hammurabi:

230. If it kill the son of the owner the son of that builder shall be put to death.

231. If it kill a slave of the owner, then he shall pay slave for slave to the owner of the house.
