Novem may be the main wife but the second wife steals Lyles first time and that gets under her skin
It took a year to adapt volume 1 and she appears at the end of volume 3 so I'd say a year and a half~ maybe?
Volumes 2 and 3 are only 15 chapters each compared to volume 1 which is 18.
So far 1 chapter of the manga tends to cover 1 chapter of novel content (the only exeption being the boss fight which got expanded into 2 chapters) so assuming things continue to get cut and streamlined volume 2 and 3 could easily be trimmed to 10~12 chapters each. Volume 2 especially can be quickly rushed through
It's kind of novel to have the female love interest be the one pushing for a harem, though of course it would be better IMO if she turns out to be secretly bisexual and digging the harem situation for that reason.
WTF... Novem's like an THE SSR ranked girl you'll want to pull on a gacha if you want to build a harem! Smart, good looks AND loyal that she's even be the one to put forth plan to build your harem for you?! W-Why can't more series have main charater girls like her?? Why does it always have to be a shitty tsundere or some plain ass flat-chested vanilla twin-tailed girl or something?!

She didn't steal his first time. We were not told who took his first, but it was probably novem.
These chapters happen in the inner palace after they were already married, and the main girls dry him right after the final battle.
What I really hope to see is him confessing to his bros about his suffering that he's only pretending to be clueless to avoid the bloody bath

It is very explicitely implied and flat out stated that Miranda stole Lyles virginity. That was the reason Novem was so forceful in jumping Lyle the next day

There are multiple reasons for this; many of them are related to, as I said elsewhere, conformism and fetishism. Many authors--like this story's author--are not only "lolicons", but also masochistic; as a result, it's exactly the 99:1 tsun/dere tsundere (for the age-old rejection fetish common among JP authors and fans alike) or a twin-tailed flatchest (which, together with the first, fits lolicons perfectly--see the years of Shanaclones) that you'll get for a FMC. You can also get a plain girl if the author wants to get on a soapbox about what you, the male reader should find attractive in women (and this plain girl will often approach androgyny).
If you don't, the author will do to her what he did to Novem--make her inferior in certain ways, appearance-wise, to female characters secondary in importance to her; the most common way is breast size. This convention is not uncommon: the author of Rakudai Kishi no Eiyuutan did the same to Stella Vermillion in the LN. Though she's explicitly described as having "massive breasts", the author had Won (the LN's artist) depict Stella with prominent but still middling banana-shaped breasts--and then introduced a character later in the story that made Stella insecure. Conversely, the manga depicts her properly with much bigger and fuller breasts, but that was only an ad for the LN--so it ended before long.
Likewise, it's only Nagy that saved Novem from that flaw: in this adaptation, she's busty (when the mangaka isn't being careless about her size and shrinking her), but the author intended for Novem to have a mediocre, medium-sized bust--and you can see this in her character sheet at the end of the next half-chapter. Novem, by that design, is perfect--except for her middling breast size, which is completely eclipsed by that of Sophia. Even in this adaptation, she surpasses Novem in that regard. If Novem's the female lead, why is a secondary female character allowed to relegate her to undeniable inferiority? The impressive fact that Novem's making a harem for her future husband isn't an excuse--the message the author's sending about the female lead is still being sent.
As I've said, and as you've implied, everything I've said is common--and Mishima Yomu is no stranger to these conventions.
And like clockwork, the ones using it are never aware of even the possibility that the person they're using it about doesn't deserve it. People with a rejection fetish, however, probably like the idea of hearing it.
