I feel like the entire point of the story is lyle working towards preventing this from happening.
Lyle wants to be more than that and become independant after getting kicked around for so long, even if he doesn't know how to do it and rock bottom self esteem. He was genuinely disgusted by the idea of parasitizing her forever

I did notice one error on page 11 where Sophia says "We're you dissatisfied with my pledge". It's a small typo though, one I make often myself. Still a great translation as always though!

Is he though? In later chapter, the new girl (best girl) would point out that Novem babying Lyle makes the Aria and Sophia developed too slowly. She singlehandedly fixed the stagnation of the party member by being the iron hand and yes she directly oppose Novem.

The best part of the story is character growth though? Honestly your reaction here similar when WN was out. Everyone hates him. But in the latter part he was one of the best characters.
