No wonder everyone loved her dad. He was forklift certified.

We’re excited to share some great news: this series has officially been licensed for an English release by Seven Seas!

It’s amazing to see the story finally getting the recognition and support it deserves, and we’re genuinely happy the series will reach an even wider audience.

With that announcement, we’ll be stepping away from working on this project after we finish the current arc. As a rule, we do not continue translating or releasing content that has been officially licensed.

However, if another group would like to continue it, we’re happy to help make that transition easier. We can provide: translation notes, glossary files, templates and formatting files, and any other relevant resources we’ve used. If your group is interested, feel free to reach out via Discord.

Thank you to everyone who read, supported, and helped along the way. It’s been a fun ride, and now we’re all looking forward to the official release.
Disappointing but 100% respect your decision and this is an utterly based way to handle it - clean handover if another group is willing to pick up.

Y'know, i think i prefer the way viz and shueisha/mangaplus announce that they're officially picking up a series - by sniping the SL team, like what mangaplus just did with osananananajimi.
a full year for the first volume when we're currently at vol. 5 already? yeesh. no wonder i often see series get official releases and yet still be actively scanlated - if the official release is multiple years behind, then by the time the official TLs catch up to where the SL was at the time of the announcement, the series would've in all likelihood probably already ended.

while i respect your decision, i do think that it might actually  hurt the series more than it helps it: i doubt that most of the people buying the volumes will be new readers who have never heard of this series before - in all likelihood, the vast majority of them will be people who have read the scanlations before and decided to buy a volume to show support to zurikishi, and seven seas definitely knows this (hi seven seas intern paid to lurk mangadex for new series to pick up, hope you're doing fine on your forum crawl); which is why they picked a series that's decently popular online. but given seven seas' release timeline, i think that stopping scanlations will completely unravel that very reason - a series that's spent twice as long being effectively dead as it did being actively translated, will be mostly forgotten by the vast majority of people who used to read it by the time the volume releases simply due to the sheer influx of other series being translated at all times, likely leading to reduced sales as a result of people simply forgetting that the volume was releasing in the first place without regular chapter updates reminding them of the series' existence (i know i probably won't). in fact, i think seven seas might actually be  counting on the fan translations to remind people that the series exists and to buy the volumes, and would actually prefer it if you kept TLing it, but won't say anything for obvious reasons.
and also, while i get not wanting to promote legal alternatives, i don't that what seven seas is doing actually counts as an alternative - even the licensors themselves clearly agree, with volume releases and simulpubbing being considered separate services by them, and many series getting one but not the other or vice versa; they're completely different products/services, and one cannot replace the other - which is why big series get both. i genuinely think seven seas were hoping to save costs by letting the pre-existing fan TLs take the place of a simulpub service which they would've otherwise had to pay for in order to drive sales - i cannot fathom any other reason why they would otherwise feel comfortable licensing a series based off of niche social media hype when the soonest they can bring it to market is a full year from now.

Is seven seas any good? Totally out of the loop on official licensing.
Here is a comparison, I am a fan of this Manga
https://mangadex.org/title/99e16a63...1b8d06/level-one-demon-lord-and-one-room-hero
It got licensed by them, I bought the english volumes when they came out, is 11 volumes and finally we got a date for when is coming out in English, here is a comparison:
Last chapter release in Japan: June 4 of 2024.
Volume 11 in english release: May 12, 2026
2 years.
And that's why I am (slowly) (trying to) learning japanese.

This is the worst possible scenario... 7 seas will take forever to reach the same chapter count....

No. They are prone to ""localizing"" (censoring) content and have dropped translations mid series leaving it in limbo unless someone is nice enough to pick it up.
