It's reassuring to see Candy and Stella back as allies, she was a promising, capable new character and Candy's one of the few adults on Kate's side after all. It's interesting that page 8 still shows Louise as a distinct member of the group (in her pre-unification form; not as a reverted morph like Shirley, nor merged with Lou) even after her cancelled unification, and yet I didn't see her in this chapter.
I'd love to see the Patrick and John pairs back too, but I'm not sure how easy that will be. Would be nice if they did, since Patrick grew into an important character and had a good development arc (not to mention his super useful power, almost like Imagine Breaker). John in particular hasn't been relevant to the plot after he got sidelined from his injury and surgery. Now would be a good time to bring him and Shaun back.
But the real elephant in the room is... just who is this jolly older man and what did he do with the arrogant, dour-faced Thomas? Oh, so the adults wiped his memories as part of his punishment, in addition to cutting off his arm? He's mentally regressed liked a kid now so it seems like it's not just his memories that he lost, but maybe Uncle Grapes still has soot powers that can help team Kate. But he's still a wild card to me because I can't predict how he'll act in case he gets his memories back. if this happens there's a chance he can rat out Kate's faction to the 3rd floor adults to regain their good graces and maybe get his old position in the second floor back.
If it's true that Jeremy's been spying for Anthony, it kinda makes more sense now how he was able to glean so much more critical information. He possibly had a plant in the research team.
