What revolutionary or independence movement would not seem messed up by your standards? Revolutions happen for a reason, and the reason is that, in most cases, that is the only choice an oppressor will provide. After all what ruling class would be willing part with their power. And the few cases in which they did, I can guarantee you that it is done so paternistically and in a manner which they are still in charge albeit in an indirect way. What's messed up is the fact that, after 63 years, the US is still acting like a sore loser by continuing the embargo on Cuba. It's ironic how despite the odds, Cuba has a higher life expectancy and literacy than the US.
