Guys, just download Papago on your phone and translate the text using that app. Press image, point your camera at the text and it translates! If you read on the phone, just screenshot and upload from gallery to Papago. Google translate does this stuff too but Papago is made by Naver, so imo the Korean translation tends to be way better than Google's. It's still machine translation and won't be perfect, but a webcomic like this usually doesn't have complicated sentences. The app translation is pretty good for this comic.

If you want better tranlsations then....just give it a view and hope it gets published and then picked up for overseas translation by Webtoon lol.

Lol pirate fan still going to blame her anyway for being a wuss . Pirate is not good and never will be .No matter how your reason for pirate it’s still bad for everyone who put effort in to this. I love people think pirate is good for business I just wonder if they never touch money before in they life .If you say pirate bring new blood ,yep it indeed bring a new blood but a pirate blood that it. And did you think pirate will bring moneys into business? No pirate still a pirate no matter what.

Now I'm even more confused lol. Since she suggested uploading both the English and Korean versions on Naver and there are already people translating this illegally wouldn't it make more sense to publish this note asking translators to contact her if they wanted to work on translating the series. Because everyone who contacts her would speak Korean and a language they are willing to translate into it doesn't matter that she doesn't speak that language and they could continue translating the work for free like they did before. Obviously some groups would want credit for translating but surely there are plenty who don't mind and just do it for fun, right?

Everything she said is valid but one part... I know for sure that while official translation companies do look at what's popular in Korea, they also heavily consider the English market. Aka what is having the most talk among the SCANLATION community. Some also actively compete against the community in order to get past the fan translations as soon as possible in order to gain revenue since free is always better for people, unfortunately... But in general, it's also extremely safe to see what works rather than what's simply popular in Korea. Otherwise we would get a lot more variety from there.

If you're reading this author, I wish you the best of luck. I do hope you get licensed so I can start buying your chapters. If you do, I would also be curious if you could make another note explaining the process.

@NYAHAHA I also also curious why the author didn't directly contact the group if that's what she wants. Maybe there is a contract with the publisher where it has to be with official channels? I know Navar is closely locked with Webtoon, and all translations for Naver series go there. So if that is the case, then they have to be paid probably... Regardless though, I think she knows a lot about her side of the licensing, but not the overall inner-workings perhaps.

Well it’s their work so they get the final say. Best of luck to the author.

I wanna say works that are popular on scanlation sites have better likeliness to be licensed on tapas or tappytoon, but that doesn’t mean the author’s feelings are not valid.

Well ... so long as there isn't an official translation hardly anyone is going to read it if you'd have to translate it yourself... I mean it's not like you can even type it into a translator if you don't now a thing about korean. But okay if that's the author's opinion then I guess I'm just not going to read it anymore. Also complementing the translators doesn't mean the readers don't appreciate the authors work, most people probably just don't expect the author to EVER read their comments.

@yabaibunni naver owns webtoons, it's their English site which is also why everything is free to read there

@nyahaha then it would have to be posted on webtoons.com and there's still the issues of having an outside unverified party translating. She also mentioned that APS did not correctly translate the title and along with illegally translating, i doubt she'd want to work with them

I feel bad for the author and understand why she doesn't want it translated elsewhere. It's too bad that naver doesn't have translation volunteers for webtoons on their site so the author can get credit for their work. It would be a win win. The author work hard on their contents but doesn't bear fruit from their efforts. I wish the author much success on her webtoons. 🥰

@nico-chi yeah, I know that aha. That's why I think there is a contract stating any English license has to be with them, and if it's through them, they have to pay the translator.

This fucking author jeez. We would use image translaters if they worked there is a reason we use translaters as the translation actually makes sense and make it's so it's easy to read and understand . This is getting funnier and funnier. People don't think the translaters made it that's what is getting me annoyed as well it just shows the author clearly does understand the scanslating community. We read knowing and even researching whose behind the work. We thank the translaters because they arnt getting payed to translate. A lot of us had no clue the author was reading are comments so there is no reason to thank them here . I was being really understanding with the last chapter but this second one has really pissed me off and I didn't even realize but this comic is free?! I mean her health issues is more a social commentary on how much work comic makers must do to he noticed and how it's dangerous but they do come from a country which is known for that so it is predictable they are having health issues.

@nico-chi ohhh that makes more sense. I didn't realise Naver owned Webtoon but since they do the authors suggestion for people who want to read in other languages makes more sense
