I had those same thoughts when I was in high school wondering wtf I wanted to do in my life,
now I'm in college still the same guy and older but managed to numb my senses with enough ignorance to the world.

I'm still walking but I have the same worries as the MC mentioned in the earlier chapters, just walking through life blindly without any actual long term goals in life.

The realism is so good that I'm annoyed at how well the author portrayed the MC's mind working overtime to downplay Kanade's achievements by claiming they were "small steps".

It's really aggravating to see this from an outside perspective because it's so easy to see where she keeps going wrong but it's a million times harder to apply it to yourself when the ego is that big and fragile

It hurts, you know. When you fail and fail and fail but the others move forward instead, and it's not like you're jealous or envious or hateful of them, but it hurts when you realize you're not going anywhere. That life is passing by.
Yeah, you keep falling down when you see yourself not moving forward, and you stuck in that cycle forever...
