If you look at the "gibberish" script under the town names on the map, it's pretty clear that "Poruta" is meant to be romanized as "Polta." The script in "Tartaros" matches up one to one with (roughly) equivalent characters, and the O, T, and A in "Polta" are the same in the accompanying scroll for the town.

Ergo, quid pro quo, ad hominem...the town's supposed to be called "Polta."

I think the proper name for the town might actually be “porta” which is Latin for gateway. Which would make sense in the context as the town is the “gateway” to the dungeon.

Edit: or it could be the Greek “portas” which is Greek for door. As Tartarus is the same in both Greek and Roman mythology it could be either.

I don't wanna bag on the guy that translated this, but the grammar was awful, then his end page was in full, proper english and he admitted to machine translating the entire thing.
The least he could have done was change up Google-chan's translations to be legible english
