ty for tl. i think the term medium would best replace ability user. sounds the most spiritual, where esper and psychic feel like a different kind of supernatural. adept sounds more
like a way you might describe an ability user than as a way to name them outright.

Medium is probably the safest option?

Espers and Psychics might end up showing up as their own type of "abilities" after all.

But a Medium's ability to talk to ghosts/yokai seems relatively "universal", for lack of a better word, so it feels the least likely to run into an overlap.

Medium's probably fine for ability user since exorcist is taken. Maybe Sighted? Paranormal?

I wouldn't use esper or psychic since those are more for telekinesis and such instead of ghosts. Adept makes me think of people who actively study like wizards, but being adept at supernatural stuff might work. Metahuman's too technical and superheroey.

I think OP MCs are rather generic, but I'll take anything over passive/hidden OP MCs. They are well done in some cases, but more often than not, you just end up with a character who appears incredibly pathetic.
I can see how this family situation might've influenced his younger self, but surely there's better ways to deal with this now that he's older. And considerably powerful.

I don't support medium, a medium is a person who connects with spirits and souls, not someone who fights spirits or demons with weapons or seals lmao. Picking it just because it sounds more "spiritual" makes no sense. At that point you may as well just split it into 2 terms.
When they're referring to the generic term for people who can see spirits, call them ability users, or spiritual awakened, and when discussing the people who kill them, call them exorcists.

Or just use Exorcists in general. I don't have a problem with ability user, it is exactly what they're saying after all, no need to localize. Though I suppose instead of calling them user, the term itself is more just about anyone who has an ability in general.

Ability bearer? Ability Holder? Spiritually Gifted?
