Saying "You were groped because you're cute" is like saying "you were robbed because you're rich". In a weird way you should feel proud and accomplished, but does that mean that you wanted to be groped/robbed? No! And neither does it make it okay to do such a thing. So I hope you understand why saying something like that would be tactless and insensitive, even if you're technically right.

@livesofflight I think if he had said it exactly like that he would have realized how stupid what he did say was. I'm sure he didn't actually think that people who are considered cute should be happy when they're assaulted. Rather, he's a dumb kid who didn't think it all the way through. He probably would have realized how stupid what he said was even without the crossdresser's (I forget his name) blowout, given half a day.

Ugh what the hell!? Welp, I regret looking forward to more scenes between those two.
Screw Tasuku for making such a careless comment to a child who'd just been groped, screw Misora for outing him in public like that.
Volleyball boy is the real mvp in this chapter for making sure the goldfish didn't die as a result of all the drama.

Woah! That's considered victim-blaming? I guess after re-reading the scene, I realize he didn't sound sympathetic enough (saying "yeah, that is really gross. I feel really bad that you had to go through that" or something would be more optimal I think), but I thought his intentions were to just complement Misora-san (maybe not as tactfully as he could have, but still)! To me, it didn't seem to imply at all that "those who were assaulted should be happy because they're considered cute." He never even said that Misora-san should be happy! First-time reading I actually thought that Misora-san was mad because he thought Kaname-san was the one who assaulted him or something!

Hm... it must be one of those non-literal parts of communication. Ugh, maybe my interpersonal skills are not so good, since I totally didn't pick up on that. Well, point noted, if I'm ever caught in a similar situation, I'll need to apply additional super careful safety precautions not to offend anyone.

i felt my heart drop reading this as a lesbian woman who is much too aware of how hurt both sides would be after this. they’re still kids so i understand their ignorance but i hope they apologize

yeah they're kids on the verge of teenage
i get how they feel
tasuku was occupied with his desires and jealousy of girls and normality that he ignored misora, who was also experiencing a lot of emotions (going out in femme for the first time, seeing his sisters pass by, being groped, etc.)
it's not that hard to see when you pay attention, but of course if you only read it from tasuku's perspective then yeah misora's rage is gonna seem absurd
