That's not what it's communicating. Shimeji and Majime became one and then became two. They contain a bit of each other in themselves while being separate, but that's true of everyone even now.

In being able to alter the self, you can lose distinction betweet yourself and others, but this doesn't mkan this is a necessary or permanent state of affairs. It isn't scary to become one because you can always find separation as well.

Ego death is the first step to creating your ego anew again.
