It's amazing how the MC goes from competent to a complete fucking moron who knows nothing about the industry he was working towards and saving up money to enter. His lack of knowledge in his own chosen field almost makes him look too dumb to live and it kinda pisses me off he needs an outside source to not end up homeless on the street.
If you like fantasy with economics, check out MAOYU. It's more of an epic than a comedy, though.
The guilds' feelings about their profit margins are irrelevant. The government would put its boot in their asses if they get in the way of such a massive strategic and economic boon as his duplicate potion.
It's kinda like the French guilds. They decided to screw around with the economy in France and essentially dictate it, such as prices and customers, and so the French government at the time dissolved them.
