I got a completely different image of Danan in my head from the LN.
It's been along time but I always remembered him as bald and massively jacked like twice as wide as he is in this.
He's also dressed in a toga that shows his chest.
Basically a bandit from fist of the north star without the purple mohawk.

So everyone figured that gideon didn't leave on his own but gideon left because he thought he was useless and didn't say anything to his own sister. Everyone thinks alex is full of shit but no one said anything, little sis didn't look for her bro. Man this feels like its super obvious that Alex was doing bs and the fact that such a useful person just disappears from the hero party(her brother at that) would warrant people yah know searching for him and following up said disappearance.

Feels like everyone is dumb just so we can have slow life series.

Now we gotta go back and find Gideon so we can fight the demon lord

2. So Alex did something that weakens the hero's party to increase his meager chances to land on the hero and restore his pitiful duke house. Normally you'd think somebody who dares to endanger everyone's survival for his own selfish reasons gets removed (and maybe executed), but alas the Amazonian Rain Forest is burning, there is still oil in the Golf of Mexico and and many countries will lose their most densely populated stretches of land to the oceans within the next few decades.

due to her "protection" she isn't able to do anything that isn't defeating the demonking. fun fact: when the sage tells her that her brother ran away she half-killed the sage before her "protection" kicked in and she was forced to heal him instead of following her brother.

In chapter one you can see how the mage made him dropout, he left because he felt he wasn't needed anymore, was told to his face that he was just a burden and that he was not a true ally either.
He didn't 'fuck off from his responsibilities' like you say, are we reading the same thing? or you just forgot due to the low releases?.

@conscript117 I mean he did leave after only hearing that from literally one person... its a big loophole of course that we the readers fill in ourselves but come on. If someone said I was a burden I would just go and ask the party what they thought and the hero. Since the hero is party leader from my understanding.

It's a little weird that this isn't the first story I've read in the past year where a sage from a noble family gets a party member to leave, and then brings the party down with their inability to do chores.

@conscript117 Whenever someone has issues with a series why is it the first thing they get told is stop reading it?
Why did he not talk to anyone other than this one guy since it seems the MC was actually a reliable and most useful member to the party.
Everyone else seems to question the validity of the sage's word as we saw in this chapter itself hell someone left before and another is planning to leave to go find the MC, seems rather selfish to just leave without saying why.

The entire slow-life series hinges on this 1 point where the MC decides yea the sage is right. It feels so lazy, that is why brought up the point that I would not be surprised if his lack of self worth has something to do with his protection. Because it just seems careless to leave your overpowered dead on the inside hero sister to her own.

I honestly like the protection idea influencing someones personality thats why I'm chalking up the MC's slowlife to be something more than "yea sage guy is right"
