@isoujiX Back in the earlier chapters, Gideon thought to himself that one of the reasons he was forced to leave was that his sister finally found some emotional support, which he thought was from the Sage from his POV.

Seeing that kind of misunderstanding kind of reinforced the idea that maybe he really wasn't needed anymore.

When he almost died, my anger dispersed and glad because he's probably thinking rn that he made the wrong choice. Lmao, he kicked out Ruti's older bro cuz he wants to be the one Ruti will cling to, but now; he chained himself with a pyscho that could kill him over and over again.

🤣🤣🤣

no sympathy for the mage, but maybe now he'd understand why you don't play with fire and not expect to be BURN

What a dumbass world, every single human rely on the hero...and that kind of thing is bad. You can't rely and put the burden and the duty only to one person it's similar to Dictatorship... they're lucky that the hero is Ruti she know well about her duty and burden and she's kind enough to do her duty as a Hero, but have you ever think what if the hero is someone who's selfish and arrogant? you know what will happen next...well I shouldn't put real world logic into a fantasy, I'm sorry.

And finally yes fuck him up good Ruti! You can't kill your companion but you can torture them then heal them then torture again repeat untill they know their place.

Oh my sweet summer child, blessings in this world are not real blessings. They are bindings. She isn't staying a hero because she is 'kind'.

I may be wrong, but the translation did mention/discuss briefly the reaction of Danan the Martial Artist *bald guy who screamed at Gideon you mentioned* and Theodora the Crusader *long black haired woman who is a representative of the church* on Gideon's departure.
Both of them consider themselves/treat Gideon on a master-student basis *a little add-in to anyone curious, but its been mentioned that while yes, Ares can one shot Gideon most of the time IF Gideon isn't fast enough to counter his spells but anything else, Gideon takes the cake since Ares is a literal glass canon whose only advantage is Max level spells, Gideon just has to beat him BEFORE he gets to prepare and cast spells*. But going back to the relationship between the 3 of them, if I remember it right, it is just in Danan's nature to be blunt *and again, they've been in a party in a while enough to be casual but long enough to stop and thank Gideon's contributions at every little thing or that's how one can interpret it* and as a Martial Arts master himself *I forget if the guy has a dojo of some sort* but BECAUSE they've been in a party for so long, both specialists admit they HAVEN'T been openly praising or watching over Gideon *so they don't notice the poor dude's inferiority getting bigger since he's not contributing in actual combat* that much since 1. its been his (only) job (left at the party) to do the support role 2. the other 2 people (Lit and Yarondorara/elf girl the Druid that should be watching over Gideon other than the Hero isn't present since these two naturally are on a closer wavelength with Gideon and treat him in higher ground. Lit and him bonded while strategizing, and in an alternate timeline, the timeline/the what if the story/party continued as planned where Gideon does die if he stays long enough with the party, elf girl is his love interest.

But this just goes back to the issue where Gideon could've just consulted the rest, but his inferiority took over and he had the terrible timing of witnessing the scene with Ruti and Ares and just concluded Ruti didn't need him as much seeing as he thinks she can function without him/has another support system. But like I mentioned earlier, if Gideon did stay, there was a medium-high chance he would've died. I put medium first because in the what if timeline, Gideon didn't get to train early like in the main story where he had a master *the knight commander who taught him the value of mastering normal skills and his swordsmanship* (he wasn't a respected vice commander like in the main timeline but was an above average knight thanks to his advanced level but again did not specialize in anything) and didn't get to master most of his normal skills so no enhanced speed and endurance, longsword equipped strengthening, flash steps, etc.

and she's kind enough to do her duty as a Hero
She really isn't. The blessing literally forces her to act certain ways. She physically cant stop doing her duty as a hero, regardless of what she wants to do. It is why she stopped and healed the Sage after she gutted him, and couldn't clear up the misunderstanding immediately. Her body went into autopilot and healed him. And she mentally has to accept it, even if she is against it, in order to keep some semblance of sanity. For clarity, I dont think the blessing forces her mentally in any way. However, from what it seems, it can force her to act certain ways at all times, in order to maintain the appearance of a Hero. So even if she is mad, she cant show it unless it is towards an enemy (something she does not get to decide for herself either).

The question I have though is, after she defeats the Demon King, what happens to her? Does the blessing persist, and continue controlling her is certain ways, or does it essentially disappear?

You know, the blessing only says she can't kill her allies. Doesn't say she can't repeatedly maim and restore them. Seems like a good compromise to me. "Oh don't worry you won't die" sounds like a good thing to repeat during your stress relief moments.

Surprised the twat can sleep near her after she punched a hole through him. Perhaps his own blessing prevents him from just shitting his pants in her presence considering how jacked hers is.

@spandxltd @JavelinJoe oh I didn't know that the blessings is a curse too but then why is the sage doing something that's ridiculous and unbefitting of someone that hold the "sage" blessing, I mean as a sage he chase out the brother that have an important blessing for the hero and make things more difficult and longer for the party to defeat the Demon king/lord, the brother is there to assist the party and the hero especially so the blessing (aka curse in disguise) should prevent the sage from doing so, no?

Only the Hero is forced by her blessing to the extent like that. The Sage is meant to be there too, but only as a party member. Aside from that (if it even is) I don't think there is any other forced action imposed on him. On the other hand, MC's blessing was basically an early game power. He helps raise the Hero through the early levels while teaching them about how to fight, survive, adventuring, etc. But then falls off since his level cap is significantly lower (30 max iirc which he started with from when he got the blessing). So in a sense, he would not have been a major contributor later on in fights due to the level differences. He did most if not all of the background work though, which is what most if not all of the Hero's party still don't do, or don't do well enough.

Also, for some reason, if the Sage (main magic user) is not the MC, it seems somewhat common that they usually are the "evil guy" in the Hero's group. Always causing trouble for MC or just against MC in most matters. IDK why, but it happens in a couple of other stories too.
