As for prince prettyface... BOY if a girl WITHOUT magic actually can put many noble girls WITH magic off the table, this mean their capacity as future queen is questionable.

Like many parents today, with both parents busy working/networking and both claim they sacrifice so much for the sake of the kids or family, leaves the kid to learn by self using gadget or chatgpt.
Then one day kid does something wrong/not turned to be their ideal kid/not having stellar potential, both parents feel regretful but have no idea and either kept asking WHERE DID I GO WRONG to self or WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU to the kid.

typical case of butterfly effect. a little change and a big ripple that expands from it.

everyone had a bias towards the series of events that led to her execution that forced that path to occur.

If I had a chance to escape all of that I would be genuinely annoyed to be dragged back into it. screw the candidate selection, just reject it and give us a story that truly goes in a new direction. as readers we can already see the 'noble' BS going on thats like "she's trash so she should reject it, but even more so if she dares to agree".

imagine making a candidate of people who are already seeing other men, exposed? deserved lol.

the rest losing just proved they were incompetent and magic gave them no advantage over her.

seems the crux of the matter was going as far as "assassination" and there being evidence of it (though something tells me that somehow this timeline will reveal it 'wasn't really her assassination attempt' idk...)

hoping for a good story, worried it'll turn into a rehash of the countless pre-existing templates already done.

It does frequently seem to be the case that in this kind of situation where the heroine has knowledge of the future (time travel, otome game isekai, etc.) that the moment she decides to walk a path that doesn't lead towards doom, the prince is bound to come and find her regardless.

I agree with you. "we just kept you in a situation that physically and mentally tormented you because what if you had developed magic?" They could have just taken her back to their territory and if at any point she developed magic just send her back to the capital. And the mother is also so stupid. "I cared about you so much that I never once came to visit you" and then she talks about raising her wrong like bitch you didn't raise her at all you weren't even there.

I hope not, but he's still on the cover... I should probably drop it before it actually makes me upset lol. If he had cared for her in the previous timeline he should have done something to help her so he's either flipped his opinion for a bullshit reason or he's a useless prince whose selfishness caused her extra hurt in the process if he wasn't willing to drop her or help her.

It does seem like the prince was being fairly reasonable in the original timeline. Though at this point I'm sick of and a little insulted by the "interesting" label, so I hope they do more than that.

Her parents objectively failed her the first time around, but maybe things can be better on this retry now that they've had more time to course-correct. She doesn't seem to have a grudge towards them, but it's not exactly pleasant seeing her act like an emotional abuse victim.
