Create a common enemy for the people to unite under, orchestrate a defeat with minimal sacrifices, and the people's party takes over with minimal bloodshed and turmoil, preventing the situation where the colonial powers can prey on a weakened nation. Much like he did in Sinchar.

Its the worst arc for me , I can't get involved in the story right now.

Understandable. The arc is the longest so far, over 25 chapters long and still counting. A lot of the time is devoted to having characters talk about court schemes and political intrigue. And since there are many, many characters (both old and new), it can get confusing.

The author is clearly fascinated by China's history in the turn from the 19th to the 20th century, and I understand the fascination. And there is an argument to be made that harem intrigues have been used in historical and pseudo-historical fiction to great effect in other series. But the execution here is lacking. I'm not particularly interested in the queen candidates or their struggles to put their respective kids on the throne, yet everything has to be dragged out until that plot is resolved.

Understandable... but personally, can't relate.

I don't say this as a dig on you, but i seen comments like yours in every arc since Kai went to Albion for the first time, and sure... the story takes its time, in some points even I admit a little too much, but... I think the only conclusion that I feel was a little below the line of satisfactory was the school arc one, but I will say... that this story gets better with rereads, considering how the release schedule is.

And I came to appreciate how much time each arc takes to take form... it is giving time for each culture and country to show its colors, instead of turning them into the "new place of the day". I can see some very big pay-offs down the road, when we start to really go back to some of the past locations, we already see a few small ones, and they are funny and pretty entertaining.

BUT... this is just my opinion, and I have thick skin, please don't think I am devaluing your opinion, I really ain't... it is just that I want to put a little counterweight on the critique, as I do think this series deserves the effort from me.

He's definitely having the most fun playing with the tropes of Chinese history (can you even call them tropes when talking about history?) but the whole manga has been about political intrigue as much if not more than the boobs, since the very beginning.
