Yeah, I'm getting the feeling that the people who sign up to become human repositories with a sort of chill 'sure why not' are maybe not the most likely to fall into existential crises. People prone to that sort of thing probably aren't going to sign up to become sentient luggage.

My running theory was that Yuuyake is the real owner of the repository magic despite being hopelessly unskilled otherwise, or that Yuuyake was responsible for his near-death state requiring the magic to keep him alive, with both their memories wiped afterwards to prevent trauma (perhaps Asahina's work?).

I'm curious what the underlying crux of the compatibility is between them. I didn't think Mahiru had much with Shinozaki, but after reading this chapter maybe I'm rethinking that.

Will have to see what the big reveal is in the next 2/3 chapters or if it's played straight.
