Commenters here seem to easily accept it, but the entire series, both the main entry and the spin-off, were quite realistic, so her going "I love you" after finding out he is a 9 on the crazy stalker scale when she was just considering divorce, and yelled that she hates him in front of their entire social circle, because he was oppressive, really broke the flow of the story for me and just let the ending fall flat on its face.

Well, being married to a yandere means you never have to wonder if they love you.

Thank god she didn't open the folder labeled "Haruto"

Wow they’re perfect for each other, surely this relationship ends well!
They'll go on cruise though the fjords on a Nice Boat.

aww how cute! sterilizes them both in their sleep so that they never have children
Adoption. Checkmate.

What a god-tier ending. That li'l tosser Haruto could never love anyone as much as Itsuki loves Rio.

Die mad, Mahoro. Queen Rio stands undefeated.
Based.

... What a fucking turn of events.

Yeah, these two deserve each other.
He wants to control her and she wants all of his attention.

Please never have kids and let the bloodlines end here.

Something about "birds of a feather flock together..."

Ofc, it was the "yandere" ending. And you know what? It's a "good ending", so to speak.

I kinda feel for Rio...? But it's more in the fact that she could have corrected her whole personality from the very beginning, beyond the main story and this spin off... But, oh, well. At least they are happy together...? (she didn't deserve Mahoro and friends' friendship. At all. At least, all this cheating situation with Rio made Mahoro realize that Rei was a scumbag).

(I still wish we could have gotten much more psychologic introspection about Rio? Although it was very obvious that all she wanted was "validation" and feeling superior to her "friends". Sure, that still wouldn't change anything... but... I dunno, that would have been more interesting than "yup, those together are still together. Don't need to feel sorry about them... they are beyond therapy help. Be glad they are not in Mahoro's life anymore").

I can't remember the name of the manga, but this is like the plot of another manga that I read a few years ago.

The lonely wife(who literally wants to be loved like Rio) of a rich guy (who just suppresses his yandere tendencies after past relationships) rents an apartment by herself because she is feeling neglected. Enter MC a college student, who is in a long distance relationship ends up cheating with the wife. The husband finds out tries making life hell for his wife and MC. This makes the wife realize how madly he loves her, they reignite their fire and have a daughter together. The MC is stuck paying damages money to the husband till his 40s.
(Also in the last couple of chapters they »FF and show their highschool going daughter has fallen for the MC in his 40s and is pursuing him)

This author clearly never had a last longer relationship in her life nor has many experiences.

Been saving this to read in one shot and wowza, that end was definitely a...sharp turn. I hesitate to say twist since that implies a more subversive end...which I suppose it is given that 100% happy endings aren't really expected in this genre. Still, so long a they're both happy with that arrangement and nobody is getting hurt, can't really cast too much judgement on the couple. At least they managed to work through their issues in the end (and hubby loosened up a tiny bit too, so growth for him?).

I read the main story extras before this, so interesting to see how those fit together. Overall a decent, speedy read.
