Yeah, it's kinda forced. MC group can just go straight to his old comrade, knocking the guards down along the way. I doubt his old comrade will mind it.

Sure they can wait it out but I'm pretty sure they are a bit in a rush regardless if they are aware of the impending calamity has been released or not.

There's also the issue of the barrier. Yes, they can sneak in but breaking the barrier will definitely cause a commotion and a lot of time will be spent dealing with that mess.

This is the kind of story where the MC is overpowered but tries to avoid attracting attention, makes some stupid decisions to create problems and then solves said problems by attracting all the attention.

I agree that the story is made for someone deranged as Cid, but the MC here is too serious and it clashes a bit.

it's god damn annoying how slow this shit is, nothing really happen in this chapter and it took a month. And he show us that he can just ignore 2 guard in prev chapter... why not use the same shit he used on spoil rich brat to just pass 2 NPCs to talk to guy that he is "friend" with...

Magical defenses, likely shit that can deny stealth as a recourse or make whatever they try to pull noticeable enough that they'll eventually have to fight and, as others said, they can't afford to further damage their reputation.

Kind of a shitty excuse, but at least it is AN excuse. Worse would be if they just said that they couldn't act like criminals or something and let it end there: then it would be both excessive and asinine.
