Don’t forget to double-tap and end your opponent rightly. Or he’s gonna come back and be a bigger nuisance.

Also, wonder if the sword is male or female :thonk:

It's a sword, it's a stick, so it's a male.

Jokes aside, he did call the sword an old man.

Decapitation, skull-splitting, vaporization, or letting a sword infused with the soul of a Vampire Lord consume the whole body would be apt, I think.

Taking into consideration the possibility of a humanoid transformation of a sentient weapon, are we?

TY for the update! :win:

I always find it a bit annoying when they hype up the enemy like he's going to be some major badass... and then immediately dispatch him like the weakest smallfry you've ever seen.

Though I would love it if someone took it to the absolute ridiculous extremes as a way to poke fun at all the mangas that do that.
  • Imagine a super strong looking enemy about to fight an MC that is clearly not yet capable of defeating them...
  • MC falls on ass, scrambles backwards in terror until clothes get stuck on thornbush...
  • Enemy begins monologue that transitions into a flashback of all the struggles in their life they've had to overcome in this unfair world...
  • flashback lasts multiple chapters...
  • as Flashback finally ends, the enemy having reaffirmed their determination to win pulls a super-sayian style transformation...
  • Lunges towards MC, and immediately trips on insignificant pebble...
  • tries to catch themself from fall, but instead manages to decapitate themselves with their own weapon.
  • Fight scene ends with crying piss-stained MC wondering WTF just happened.
  • Next page -> readers are surprised with MC Ahegao face from excessive level-ups... then MC passes out
  • When MC wakes up, discovers brand new skill on their stats, "Trap Creation (Lv. MAX)"
  • .... as it turns out... MC touched the insignificant pebble when he was on his ass scrambling backwards in terror. (which of course readers completely forgot about, after having read multiple chapters of the dead enemy's backstory)
And the story continues like this forever. MC accidentally killing enemies because he unknowingly set a trap for them ahead of time. As the story goes on, MC becomes desensitized to enemies suddenly dying... to the point that he starts getting bored and carrying a camping chair with him so he can take a break during the monologues & flashbacks.

Bonus: At some point early in the series an enemy's weapon should be deflected with such force that it shoots into the sky with the twinkling star effect. Several volumes later, a boss enemy mid-monologue (life story flashback yet to begin) is suddenly impaled to death by a weapon falling from the sky...

MC shocked pikachu face because enemy died before he finished setting up his camping chair. Notices the weapon, and has a flashback about the enemy it came from.

I feel like the idea would stop working because it gets repeated too much.

Like, the second time this happens, the audience is already checked out by three pages into the flashback because they know it's meaningless.
Honestly, go all in on the parody aspect and just do a sorta anthology of parody stories. Then you could do the thing with the brick jokes by having 10 chapters of other parodies, another chapter of this, then 10 more chapters of other parodies, and then the brick joke payoff. You don't need to write the entire coherent story and keep an audience invested the entire time, you just need to convince them to stay invested for something small.

Somehow, it reminds me of the beginning of Death March.

It's the Soul Reaver, the vampire's soul or essence was pulled directly into the sword right when the MC killed him.

Scene starts at 4:20

The TL/PR missed an opportunity in the last panel...

A cookie-cutter cardboard villain like this would use "Inconceivable!!"

...4 Divas? What? (on pg 16)
Any demon king worth his title has 4 mighty generals. It seems they are always called "shitennou" (Four Heavenly Kings) in Japanese. But it always sounds wrong in English, so translators get creative.
That said, I think it should be "devas", which is a kind of demon, and not "divas", which are a kind of self-important singer.
It would be funny to have a demon king who actually has 4 divas, and the protagonist has to engage them in musical battles.
