Was this even axed tho, the WN was pretty short with only 57 chapters and completed, while the LN only had 2 volumes (stop at the same place as the WN), this seems more like a case of having no more content to adapt than anything
Either way an underwhelming ending.

Barely an ending for a lackluster manga. In truth this was a non-starter despite what could have been an interesting premise. He could have been a farmer or merchant that worked in the shadows or commanded his faithful subordinates to act in his place to have his peaceful life but he still chose to be actively involved and just tried to cover it up after the fact. Honestly this felt like a fleshed out middle school fantasy writing prompt that should have been left as a pet project LN.

So it’s over huh. General consensus I think was correct, it had a lot of potential, but was bogged down by subpar fight scenes. Some of the character designs were actually REALLY damn good. Beast King Leanne is an absolute gem that outshone most of the other characters in the manga, it’s a shame her tenure was so short.

Thanks so much for the translations for this! Another one to add to the shelf.

A weird end. The manga had an interesting start, but did go downhill fast the last 5+ chapters. I thought the axe was nigh, but then the author dragged out this ridiculously annoying fight for several chapters. So I assumed he isn't under any pressure to finish. Then this weird last chapter, which didn't feel like an end at all. Normally if a manga gets put on the woodblock, the artist at least tries to put a few "end" feelings into the last chapter, but if it weren't marked as "end", I would have thought it would continue next month. Well, all in all a manga I will have completely forgotten about next month.

Haha yea, didn't say otherwise, after checking out the WN, author obviously just gave up and ended it without finishing anything properly, and at the end manga got the same treatment

I remember this happening with another adaptation too, but can't remember the name, since it was probably a good while ago already (or the tl haven't been finished here to remember)
