the hero just got his powers, so Dwight just curbstomp the poor lad
the saintess was smarter and had used her own people as bettery for her holy powers, she drove Dwight into a corner, but in the end he started to kill the soldiers and other priest, after taking her access to mana, he ended her.

MC was the sage and the OG hero were both killed by the kingdom as the hero was too pure and people would follow her rather than the king, so the king blamed them without proof and killed them both.
