i wonder what would happen after he is defeated by the new heroes after he decided to become the new demon lord? would they get the same treatment? where is he going with this plan? is he planning to rule forever so that humanity will unite forever?

To be be more exact once the world was saved the countries turned on each other. This is his way of uniting humanity and getting revenge. That's my understanding of the story, thus far.

Basically humanity needs something that keep them united to avoid "temptations" on this case an evil they cannot ignore or waste efforts on disputes between them

huh, didnt care to read past chapter beyond the first, but this one actually make me see it in better light.
so the MC not blinded by revenge anymore but deliberately wants to be the villain. but damn, undead spawning undead that can turn human into undead is pretty damn OP.

its always weird that in this kind of story the MC become so much more powerful after converting to "evil" side. makes you wonder the previous demonlord must be a complete pushover for being in the dark side but defeated easily by a handful of people.

Since he and the hero got turned on and betrayed by humanity after killing the demon lord, he realized that while the Hero's solution was correct, it only proved temporary since humanity can only be united by having a singular threat that threatens to destroy them. So he becomes that very threat so humanity can be 'united' and at 'peace' since they have similar interests in destroying him. He's achieving 'world peace' in his own way.
