Okay, now I'm really confused about the flashback from chapter 7. When the faceless person said they couldn't be together anymore after finding out Mao's identity, I thought that person was Nao, but here it looks like Nao knew her identity? So who was the person from chapter 7?

I wonder how many chapters it is until this starts making sense again.

Now, if the next few chapters don't have some real progress, I'm gonna be mad...

Thank you so much for the chapter, can't wait to read the next one πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

Holy crap, that's a nice callback. I didn't remember that. They might be different people... But yeah, it's only the context that will truly matter when that it's revealed.

Also, I can't believe we have been stuck with the sociopathic girl for almost 10 chapters. And we still don't know what the heck the editor is up to.

Hmm. What could an overly anxious mangaka possibly do to make someone so mad at her? Was it something she wrote about Subaru? Actually, did Nao never read it and when she did, she realised Subaru was based on her?

Re-reading that scene again, that faceless person said "Why did you turn out to be [the author]?"

I don't want to go full prediction here but she was likely asking in context, "Why does it have to be you?" As in like, why is she playing this role as the author that asks her to be her double - and where something probably caused a schism. The something perhaps having to do with being a famous author.

After thinking about it a while, going by the themes we've seen in the story so far, one possible cause of a schism might be: Nao got to know someone while playing her role, and then when Mao came clean, it hurt the relationship between Nao and the third party. That might explain why she refuses to play the role anymore.

But I still have no real confidence in my predictions.

Interesting set of chapters. I had missed the updates(three chapters, to be more precise), so I couldnt review each of them, but oh well, let me do a tiny resume.

I was correct(yes!). People online started debating over Shinome's-sensei status as a possible goddess due to her predictions(and crazy reactions started appearing, like "let's the burn down the publisher"), and Aiko's devotion was too intense even for her insecure co-worker. This will probably grown into a real, if informal, religion territory pretty soon.

The evil editor still wishes to manipulate the events... I wonder why. It doesn't seem to be merely for the money he could get through the media coverage, but rather, maybe he wants something beyond that. If I were to compare it, if Shinome is a Goddess, then maybe he is the devil, the antithesis to her existence, if you will.

Aiko was sweet, but she also is pushing Mao so she can find out who is Nao. Interesting indeed. Eventually, she will find out the truth, of course... However, there is also the possibility that Nao might be willying to pull one over the publisher and Mao, by treating Shinome's-sensei fans like crap so they might get dissapointed with her or something. Aiko would obviously become highly depressed and could do something reckless like hurting herself, and this might trigger Mao into confessing the truth, so she could save her. Just a small theory, but we shall see if it has any merit.

Ah, Aiko... If you only knew that you are the one indirectly hurting your friend.

And Mao... How difficult must be to become jealous of your own self?

Amazing.
