Gonna tell you right now man, no one wants to be in a manipulative relationship where one person uses lies and tricks to try to steer the relationship.
First we're reading a manga. Second, there are lots of different people with different preferences. You can respond with an all-knowing "no one" as much as you want but my response will be the same. Obviously no one will verbalize a desire to be in a relationship that they consider manipulative. But "manipulative" is a subjective description and once again people think differently from one another and assess situations differently, then make different choices. I doubt Kimura would consider herself to be in an abusive relationship or consider Hiyama as a bad person. There are an endless amount of relationships that I wouldn't be in myself and people I don't like; yet by some magic those people are still in relationships and still loved by people.

We don't have to get into more detail than that over this fun comic.

Hiyama is extremely toxic. Trying to force Kimura to be friends with people she approved of and would berate her if she didn't "behave". This is not healthy whatsoever. People like her need to be in therapy not a relationship. Guess what, people who try to control others like that are called "manipulators". Also, it doesn't matter if it's a manga, the comments are for discussion not an echo chamber. Ask anyone in a mental health profession if Hiyama's actions are healthy and not toxic. Pretty sure you won't get the answer you think you would.

I'm not sure where I said their relationship was "healthy?" Anyway, this doesn't really respond to what I wrote but again I'm not going go be one of those people who have back-and-forths about unrelated topics in these threads. So we'll have to agree to disagree (even though we aren't even talking about the same things; for example, you're second to last sentence is obvious, agreeable, and yet still has nothing to do with my point or what I was originally responding to).

Was worried there'd be a protracted misunderstanding arc coming but, yay! Fight for your girl, even if you don't actually have to.

From here on, everything that happens is what you won't see translated in the web comic and magazine.
