Not gonna lie it’s not even that bad. Could have potential but what the fuck was this ending. Even their relationship was made to be vague and didn’t even let them kiss. It would have made sense if it was another ln manga promo. But damn it if someone decided, ‘since this is the end, let’s make it seem like there’s still more to come,’ when it might not

Decent ending, but having the sage take the book away as a price only to give it back right at the end just feels like a dumb "well we want everything perfectly happy" type of ending. Do it or don't, but this is just sloppy.

Yeah, I agree it's a very stupid change.

It's a shame this manga got the axe, and giving him the magic book at the end anyway feels a bit like a cop out, but hopefully there's a light novel that has a more fulfilling ending.
