Dark times? They know nothing of dark times yet. But soon they will. Although I'm sure the manga won't extend that far.

@Tersione She isn't wearing yukata though. Yukata is thin kimono that is only worm in summer. The kimono she is wearing looked like it has some layers so it is definitely not yukata but komon kimono, common casual wear before Western clothes became popular. And from the prequel, Yuzu has complex about her big chest so she binds her using a lot of cloths to the point that it makes her hard to breathe.

@miyako19 Cool. Thanks for the correction. I was genuinely wondering if I had the wrong term or not.

I should really give that legacy prequel a read, but my brain constantly betrays me.

Attack on Pearl harbor is 10 years away (story time)
The Firebombing of Tokyo and the Bombing of Kobe (Where the characters live) is around 15 years away.
They are in there 20s (Now) and would be 30s when the war start, late 30s to early 40s when japan is getting desperate.
So i hope that the Author just stop the story around 8 years from now. Just to skip it.

No, I don't want the author to stop the story. Keep it going, and see it through to a happy ending in the 70s and 80s, where all the couples are celebrating their Anniversaries with all their children and grandchildren.

The author didn't gloss over the Kanto quake, so I don't think they'll stop short of World War 2 and its devastation. I want to see their grit, determination and ingenuity in surviving the horror of war and see them come into the prosperity of Japan's post-war recovery, and on to their happy endings.

So you read this without reading the prequel first? What heresy. But seriously, give it a read. It's no masterpiece but it's a great read and has way better pacing than this.
