I still need to pick up the novel, but
I'm really left wondering when Sendai will finally come clean about her circumstances in full, and why she's doing all this with Miyagi (i.e. to fill the emptiness she feels, and to give her a place where she can be herself and not have to put up a front like at school/around her friend group).

Miyagi's playing cards close to her chest as well, but they've been dancing around one another for awhile now, both too proud to "cave first", as it were. The transactional nature of their relationship is being almost forced, rather than merely enforced, and it's only a matter of time before things break, given how they're both starting to push the boundaries of "what is agreed upon" between them.

A bit of openness and trust feels like it would both solve problems between them, but also offer a path of growth and progression that could see other core issues resolved, or at least tended to.
But I don't believe we're at that point, just yet. Stuff's gonna have to just nearly break, before things will actually spill forth and true bonds start to form.

Guys, I think I've said this before, but this is a REAAAAALY slow burn. As of vol 6 of the LN, they're both in university (different unis, but living together in an apartment an equal distance from their respective Unis) and they still haven't told each other their real feelings...
Sendai has finally admitted to herself that she actually loves Miyagi.
Miyagi hasn't gotten that far, but she realises that she really doesn't want to be separated from Sentai
They also had sex (they both really enjoyed it), which was probably why Sendai finally realised. Miyagi is just stubborn and doesn't want to admit it to herself. However, they still haven't told each other their feelings and it was kinda... uncomfortable for them to be around each other afterward. Miyagi runs away for a few days and crashes at her friend's place for a few days, etc...
Anyway, I don't think the manga will be able to adapt the whole novel series, so I'd recommend reading the LN's... 7 vols and part of the 8th have been TL'd by Lillium and it's actually a good TL.

Aaaaah, this adaptation never fails to amaze me at how it gives just the same thrill as the slow burn of the LN. You know what other marks take a long time to heal? The puncture wounds after you inject this stuff straight into my veins each release. Awwww yeah, that’s the stuff! 🤤🤤🤤
