honestly the more i think about this chapter the more insufficient it feels. a lot of specifics are lost. the kiss on the finger not being there is bizarre. also miyagi didn't even get to stab her with a pencil!

true, but as someone who read the novel a while ago, the chapter captures the general vibe for me. yes, specifics are lost, and the weird eerie tension they have at times is also lost in "translation" (to the manga). But I ultimately appreciate the succinctness. It's difficult to nail this one down in just 20-30 some pages imho.

I'm holding my judgement for a couple more chapters. I don't really think a truly faithful adaptation of the LN would make a very good manga so it really depends on what these changes are in service of.

Yeah because way too much thoughts and feelings are in the narrations and the manga won't be able to provide that without turning back into the LN.
