I don't get it. Was the promise the disheveled girl's hope that her bf would still be alive after the virus business?

Well props to the guys who called the casket opening. I didn't think they'd take it that far.

@fox879 It sounds like the babe was in on the plan to open it. Not sure of the reason why, though.

I'm not sure what the plan is here, but it's more likely than not to get Doi to think the drug girl is an ally that is completely in love with him. But she'll be under the control of the advisor girl. Honestly, I think Doi knows whats up and is formulating his own way to not let advisor girl take complete control. She's up to something big and I'm pretty sure the current Doi isn't someone who'll just sit down as someone else's pawn.

Either way, fucking on top of a cyro-frozen ex-boyfriend to 'prove her love' seems so... weird. Like sure, I get Doi hates the guy but no way is that a practical method to gain trust or prove 'love'. If anything, it'd be a turn off. If I was him I wouldn't even entertain her. Fuck her, she's caused him a lot of grief.

Man, the Doi plotline is so much more entertaining. Couldn't care less about the main one and his crew of girls lol.

Edit: Oh I read it again for a little more clarity. So, drug girl was trying to release him and have him be a new number but turns out he was dead from the virus anyways? kek

Only interesting part of Doi's storyline is whatever his handler is up to. I don't find him interesting at all. MC's story is more interesting because he's actually doing something to try and solve the bigger problem, not just screwing girls all day and getting revenge.

I hate Reito's character so much, none of his values will ever be compromised, he will always be on the straight and narrow, his flaws are almost completely irrelevant, he's very boring.

I can't tell if she opened the cryostasis to betray Doi, or she opened it up to murder her boyfriend because the handler has something over her. Also was the boyfriend's plan to just stay in cryo until a cure was made? He clearly wasn't one of the immune Numbers.

@gaigous Reito's main flaw is that he thinks he's the only person in the world who's thought of making a vaccine. Sorry son, you were a medical student before you went to sleep. There are tons of advances that have happened in the five years since you went under. There's plenty of women who not only graduated, but excelled in medicine while you were down, not even including the ones who were already smarter than you before the shit hit the fan. You are deluding yourself to think you are the only person capable of finding a vaccine.

Also the most interesting thing for me in the story is Karen and her backstory. We still don't know the status Doi's little sister or his teacher. I think they both mix in with what Karen is doing to him (or for him). It's pretty fucked up to kill her BF just to advance you agenda though. There's no way that capsule was opened accidentally. That was definitely planned.

It comes down to Reito being boring and the main macro plot is what revolves around him. But since that plot is still mostly left in the dark and it feels like he's being sent on a wild goose chase, it's become rather boring.

Doi on the other hand is a character that is changing and offers a more micro-manageable plot. Karen's plans are unfolding and Doi is also potentially making his move now. Sure, it was about revenge earlier and that was hella enjoyable in its own right, but now it's deffo taking a different tone so we can potentially look forward to how that unfolds.

@degenerateafro When I say character flaw, I mean something more inherent to them as a person, a good example would be Shirou from FSN, he has a really bad case of survivors guilt which drives him to suicidal acts of heroism, he's insane, whereas flaws like being too kind, really stupid, or plain ignorant, are all cop-outs to me.

The Duchy of Rosania is quite the looker... Let's just make her the main heroine and get this over with. Naw. Not really.

At this point, many of us, including myself, are reading this manga and hoping it will end so we can finally stop making up an excuse to keep reading this trainwreck.

Man I feel bad for Doi, I feel like he fucking hates what he does and he's trying to stop. He might be going alone with all the shits just cause they have sensei captive, who knows, idk. Feel like he will make make his move soon and probably sacrifice himself or something, poor guy, tbh I like his plotline better, Reito is the typical cuck hero wannabe.

Ugh! Seriously! No wonder nobody managed to find the vaccine yet. Their world is full of thots who only think about riding the meet pole.
@Urappy
Good point. I'm dropping this.
