First the artist worried about making Monica too cute, and then made the braids a bit messy. Come on, stick to one thought there. How does that not make her even more cute?

Ah, no worries. Quite a few have commented on Candyman's undesirable appearance, so the start of Volume 2 would be as good a time as any to introduce a new look.

This is an adorable manga but I won't lie that I'm looking forward to Candyman 2.0. I hope he's a hundred times more horrifying.

I can't read what the author was saying, so I used Google Lens
Here it is
"Congratulations to Tobi Tana-sensei on the release of the first volume! I still remember how thrilled I was when I first saw Tobi Tana-sensei's character rough sketches and how I was captivated by the expressions of joy, anger, sadness, and happiness on the characters. Whenever I look at the manuscripts, I feel that, while presenting a captivating story as a manga, great care is taken to preserve the essence of the original work in the small details, such as the characters' expressions, postures, and gestures. Just look at that (the Barrier Magician) and that droopy-eyed character, whose faces can't hide their unpleasant personalities! They truly seem to be awful people! (That's a huge compliment!) Even with these similarly bad traits, it's amazing how distinctly the degree and direction of their twisted characteristics are portrayed in the artwork! (That's a huge compliment!) The girls, Isabelle and Lana, are so adorable, with their expressions changing so quickly that I can't help but smile. In the first volume, the main character, Monica, keeps whining and often looks like she's on the verge of collapse, but I'm really looking forward to seeing her various expressions in the future. I hope that our readers will join us in following the growth of Monica and the rest of the characters.

Matsuri Isora"
