Can't wait to see the MC immediately become the best video game designer the world has ever seen, with little to no effort, just from the knowledge he got from playing games all the time. Oh, and he's going to love every second of it, too. Can't forget about that.

Fuck you, author. I just wanted to read a fluffy story about a guy that gets to plow his sister. Why'd you have to fuck it up with this retarded subplot that you put absolutely zero research into??

@JavelinJoe

Exactly. The "happy" part in coding is when the code doesn't crash anymore or doesn't have glaring bugs after few hours of painful repetition and trial and error.

As a person who studies coding languages. Why the fuck would you ever want to do this, I do it because it's interesting but there's better, I swear. There's some stuff that's fun tho, I just don't think the author really thought this through, it's not easy.

Mom & Dad: "Well, if that's really what you want! Just so long as you aren't planning to bone your sister or something! Hahahaha"

Ritsu: "Hahahahahaha... haaaaa..... ummm"

I wonder how much his choice of career would affect the manga.
I mean, reading the comments, seems that the story will crumble and MC will die just for this choice...completely missing the fact that this “sub-arc” is only there to remark the fact that they love each other and want to be both happy together.

It’s dumb? Maybe, I know nothing about coding and making games, so if you lot say that’s bad, I trust you; but what’s the point of comparing a choice in a fluffy manga with a choice irl?

@newdoria88 not sure about the situation in Japan, but being a software developer in the US is a stable job, especially if you're working for the government. Sure the gaming industry might unstable and soul crushing, but this is manga so he'll probably succeed and make the best imouto eroge ever.

I mean, there's more to game development than just programing. I know the whole, "You could have the best art and the most intriguing story, but without programing you can't have a game," but art and design are still part of game dev. Besides, I went to a college tailored toward game development and there wasn't a single programmer there who hated what they did.

Making games is fun.

Making other people's games on tight deadlines in an industry where the average career of a developer is less than 5 years for ridiculously low pay for the time, effort and invested skill set... Is not.

Maybe it's way different in Japan though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Too bad Eagle Jump doesn't hire male persons, that workplace would have been great for him.

Well, he could pull off an "Undertale" and make big bucks with it.

But yeah, such a career choice, in Japan, is near suicidal. If his only motivation is "I like to play games, so I will make some", he won't go far.

I don't think I ever saw him using a computer.

I mean, it’s a half-assed conclusion, but I’m just happy this compulsory act is over

Lol none of these people know what making games is like. There's a certain personality type / intelligence that is well suited to making games, and he sure doesn't have it. Liking games != going into game development, the most underpaid and arduous part of the software development sphere. "Making a game" isn't something a normal person does. Has this guy even used a computer once in the series?

Yeah, everyone says they want to be one but rarely anyone sees it through with how shitty the road to that dream is.

Guys, relax. It's a fictional world so a job in game development might as well look like in "New Game!". It's hilarious that people are disturbed by this decision way more than they are disturbed by incest. Besides, whatever you learn on the way to create games will not be lost because coding a game requires so much expertise that if you succeed, you're ready to immediately take up more lucrative branches of programming.
