One of the problems with evil is that it tends to result from and express human nature. It's intrinsic to our kind, and therefore can't be fought like a material enemy, much less wiped out.

By that logic, our modern society should be burned and rebuilt to the ground then. Your and my family, mother father sibling grandparents, all of our friends and loved ones - should all be destroyed until there's nothing left but ashes.
