Yeah, I know but that still doesn't change the fact that sadpanda definitely had views and traffic dropped significantly, especially after the purging event. Sadpanda has managed to retain a core loyal userbase, but its reach and influence have been diminished, especially among casual or new users, due to visibility loss and content scarcity and it remains the same way till today.
I still use sadpanda, and I honestly never bothered to find a replacement. What do people use these days instead?

France has a pretty good comics culture and is the second biggest manga market after Japan, but they understand that they have to buy and support manga.
Fair enough. I totally forgot about France. But my point still stands

Lots of stuff get uploaded to mangadex, so you can turn on porn under settings.
Otherwise you can just download everything from fakku on nyaa.
There are also sites that host everything that's been taken down by fakku, don't remember their names but it's panda or something, but they only have text so you'll have to know what artist you're looking for, you can't browse.
Biggest issue with fakku is that they take down everything that they're licensed to work on, but they only release a fraction of the stuff they've got licensed, and most of it is pretty boring vanilla garbage because that's what sells most likely. So there's a lot you'll just never get a translation of.

Don't turn porn on on mangadex, biggest mistake of my life, my web cache has never been the same after that.

Be happy, for now you can filter tags by default! That was the whole point of this post if anyone forgot about this, and the thingy about paywalled scanlators. The only reason I logged in was for that drama, but no one is being an incel or anything, so the popcorn is kind of wasted now.

Iirc the original intent of mangadex was to be the equivalent of crunchyroll for manga, but it didn't work out. You can find like five year old posts from the mods back then about this, but their goal has changed. I guess it just wasn't possible, most likely because the publishers weren't interested since they wanted to be in control of their own products. Like both shueisha and kodansha nearly translates all their manga now themselves.
I see, thank you. A shame, because you hardly find all the features Mangadex has (comments, availabilty, community via forum, etc.) on their own sites, but I understand why companys would want it that way.

The strike was bound to happen anytime anyway and future ones will come, but for now I am thankful for what we had and for what we still have.

Piracy is not a service problem, it's a pricing problem. People just don't want to pay for something they're used to getting for free, and feel entitled to do so. That's the sad thing about scanlations really, it has made people expecting that reading manga is something you don't have to pay for.
Sorry but I am gonna trust Valve more about this, plus all the research of the benefits of it
https://edri.org/our-work/did-the-eu-commission-hide-a-study/
One of the main conclusions of the study states that there is no robust statistical evidence of displacement of sales by online piracy. This means that the study could not prove any negative consequences of piracy on the sales of copyrighted content. In fact, the study even found a slight positive trend in the gaming industry, implicating that the unauthorised playing of games eventually leads to paying for games.

Take these, put them on a pastebin or a TXT file and just call it "sorry shills piracy is not as bad as you want it to be"

This is so bitter I can’t put it in words.

I feel so devastated and I feel sorry for all the scanlators who poured their hearts in this work.
To me it feels like a huge injustice what has happened here.

Total overkill.

It won’t mean much in the big picture but I drew my consequences:
I buy a lot of physical manga, in English and or german (My native language) or better: bought.

Basically every manga i bought, i bought because of Mangadex.

I will now drop most of my unfinished series and give away the volumes of these titles that I already had purchased. (Ha! Lost sales you fuckers !)

Further I will not pick up any new titles, basically retiring from this hobby.

This is going to kill the site
Who's going to want to keep scanlating a series that had a huge takedown associated with it
It also makes things so uncertain that any series you work on won't get the same fucking treatment
What a bunch of fucking bastards.

is there a way to download reading list? and current chapter? if there no way to download reading list, i doubt i would continue reading here considering there no way to know the manga chapter you read when you delete it. in fact, arent MD actually completely nuke manga existence when they remove it? unlike NovelUpdates where previous read novel still mark till you unmark it

There are some things i would like to know from MD staff:

when did you receive this DMCA ?
who exactly sent this DMCA / on whoms behalf?
will you give us a list of the titles that were affected ?

i did not link my account and used a different Alias on NC but i support MD financially because i believed in its cause. I am afraid i have to re-evaluate this as well since basically everything i was reading or planned to read here is gone.

So of the series that got hit, did this remove any of them outright from the site? Not just the chapters, but like the series itself is just not listed at all anymore? I ask because it's been an unfortunately long time since I checked my list and I don't remember enough to know if I'm missing any series.
