I'm thinking he's not human either. Like some sort of plant or bird monster that got a human appearance like she did.
So like her, he's having trouble doing things other than how he originally did them as a monster.

LOL makes me wonder if there's some plot twist, about her splits being able to 'heal' will's bro, if there's not some slime who got swallowed by a dragon rather than attacked by a fire breath and ending up surviving in its system or poisoning it from the inside and escaping lol
