Yeah that was odd. Feels a bit forced for the sake of drama.

Though I wonder if that's just cause the slime by itself is weak and she only had the strength when using her body. Then again he also quickly made her let go and we didn't get a prolonged "my final message" moment so lets chalk it up to jelly being dumb and distracted as usual.

yeah it seem that super strength seem to be combination of slime and saint power. so the slime itself is too weak.

I'm not too surprised on Leon's name, given the kana chosen. Usually "Leon" ends up coming from レオン (pronounced like "lay on") not リオン ("lee on"), so being the latter made "Leon" a questionable but reasonable choice I wouldn't have been too attached to.

Kinda buried in all of this we got to see what being "tamed" by a monster tamer feels like for the monster. It looks like Jelly's body just OBEYED the command without a chance for her to react.

She lifted a dragon with her saint powers, but she was using her slime powers to hold him. I'm guessing using her jelly form inhibits her saint powers.
